THE FORBIDDEN FOREST

In the fall of 2022 I was invited by the director of the Stavanger Kunstmuseum Hanne Beate Ueland to do a show at the museum in dialogue with the Halfdan Hafsten collection. Halfdan Hafsten collected in his lifetime eight Norwegian artists: Kai Fjells (1907-89), Harald Dal (1902-72), Erling Engers (1899-1990), Thorbjørn Lie-Jørgensens (1900-61), Ragnar Kraugerud (1909-87), Arne Ekelands (1908-94), Reidar Aulie (1904-77), Alexander Schultz (1901-81). The Halfdan Hafsten collection is an imporant of collection Norwegian modernism and became a vital part of the museum when it opened in 1992.
