ANDREAS SIQUELAND
Lillehammer 2015
In 2009 was artist in residence at Ringsveen, the former home of painter Jakob Weidemann (1923–2001), located a ten minutes drive from Lillehammer, Norway. For Christmas I received a box of Kong Haakon chocolates. The inside dimensions of the box was the exact same size as some precut boards I had prepared for painting outside. This happy coincidence made transportation of wet oil paintings much easier. Mounted to a tree, the box functioned as an easel. This allowed me to go on longer excursions into the forest up along the Mesna river. A selection of paintings later became part of the public commission Chocolate Box Studio / The River Runs Here realized at the Offices of the County Governor of Oppland in collaboration with KORO - Public Art Norway.
