The summer of 2016 I walked from Elgå to Røros retracing part of the path used by the Swedish botanist Carl von Linné (1707 – 1778) on his expedition to Dalarna in 1734. Upon my return I made several painting reimagining the journey. The first paintings were made at Kunstland in Søndre Land, Norway. They were later installed as part of the exhibition Ensomhetens Bibliotek (Library of Solitude) at Harpefoss Hotell in a frieze made to fit the walls of Kabinettet (the Cabinet), approximate size 1,5 × 36 meters. The paintings are made with acrylic paint on cotton canvas and vary in height from 30 cm to 2 meters.
