In 2009 I as an artist in residence at Ringsveen, the former home of painter Jakob Weidemann, located a ten minutes drive from Lillehammer, Norway. For Christmas I had received a box of Kong Haakon chocolates. The box had the exact dimensions of boards that I had precut for painting outside. Transportation of wet oil paintings is always tricky when working outside. The box was was exactly what I hade been looking for and allowed me to go on longer excursions into thr forest and up the Mesna river.
Chocholate Box Studio later became part of the public commisisioned work Chocolate Box Studio / The River Runs Here realized at the Offices of the County Governor of Oppland in collaboration with KORO - Public Art Norway. For more information about the project click here.
